3 Steps to Build Your Brand Foundation [With Tara Moore]

Updated: Mar 22, 2021

When you think of branding, what comes to mind? For many people, it’s a logo and colors, but there’s so much more to it than that. This episode is going to break down the 3 steps you can follow to build a brand foundation that’s true to you and your business.

Welcome to the show notes! Remember, this is a brief summary from the How to Market Your Horse Business podcast. You'll want to listen to the entire episode for all the good stuff!

This week on the podcast I’ve brought on someone that you’re going to love.

Tara Moore, through her company Farm and Fir, serves equestrian and rural small business owners, and she specializes in branding and photography.

As you’ll hear in the interview, she’s passionate about branding in particular which is why I invited her onto the podcast.

I know that many horse business owners think branding really just has to do with the logo and colors you use, but it’s really much more than that.

And, as you’ll hear from my conversation with Tara, there are some specific steps you can follow to build a great foundation for your own brand.

Here are 3 steps you can take to build your brand foundation:

  1. Clearly define your positioning, values, mission, and target audience.

  2. Develop the overall aesthetic for your brand.

  3. Create a mood board and build a brand content library with photos, graphics, videos, and other visuals.

Tara shared some great resources that'll help you with this process. I've linked to each one below.

Of course, you'll want to listen to the full episode to dig into each of these steps and see how you can apply each one to your business!
