Welcome to the show notes! Remember, this is a brief summary from the How to Market Your Horse Business podcast. You'll want to listen to the entire episode for all the good stuff!

For those of us who want to build a sustainable equestrian business, marketing is not negotiable.

Sure, the methods you select might be. Whether you choose advertising, organic content, podcasting, or print materials, there are plenty of marketing methods to select from.

So, the question is not, “Should I market my horse business?”

It’s actually, “Should I figure this out myself or hire someone to do it for me?”

But, I’m here to tell you that there is actually a third option for you to consider.

3 Options for Marketing Your Equestrian Business

Option 1: DIY (Do It Yourself)

Spend hours watching YouTube, listening to podcasts, or digesting online courses. Then, try on your own to come up with a system that’ll help you be consistent on social or get email addresses for leads so you can grow your equestrian business.

Option 2: Done for You

Hire it out. Pay someone $500 to $700 per month (about $8,400 to 9,000 per year) to manage your social media, create your content, and take care of all the social things. Of course, there’s email marketing and websites to go along with that as well.

Option 3: Done with You

Through 1:1 sessions you’re expertly guided step-by-step through a framework and then equipped with customizable tools and templates to implement the framework long-term on your own.

You have professional support at your fingertips to answer your questions, give you specific feedback, and give you the next steps.

Hear me loud and clear: I am not saying that any of these options are wrong.

They each have a place, and I’d venture to say every equestrian entrepreneur will choose each of these options at some juncture in your journey.

Here’s what I want you to know: If you don’t first do the work and answer the hard, uncomfortable questions that will help you get clear on who you’re for and have a solid messaging in place then you’ll hamper the results of your marketing.

And, while I’m a big fan of rolling up your sleeves to do the work, DIY can be a time suck that leaves you unsure of how to measure progress and how to know your next steps.

So, how do you know it’s time for you to say adios to completely DIY marketing and get a Done With You coach you can trust?

3 Signs You Need to Ditch the DIY Marketing & Get A Coach

  1. Lack of strategy. You’re following the trends and copying what you see other people doing without a clear plan for how you are going to attract the audience that’s right for you and turn them into your customers. You need a coach to help you get clear on the path that will lead to your version of success.

  2. Lack of consistency. Consistency is the name of the game when it comes to building a marketing strategy that works for the long-term. For example, to use social media as an effective tool in your marketing toolkit, you’ve got to actually pull it out and post more than once a month. When you have a coach, you can create a plan together that’s doable for you and effective at helping you reach your goals.

  3. Lack of accountability. If you don’t have anyone asking you the hard questions and pushing you outside of your comfort zone, you’re more likely to stay stuck, or stagnant at the least. When I coach clients, I’m their biggest cheerleader AND the one who doesn’t shy away from pressing the envelope so we can get the true breakthroughs. And then I’m keeping in touch to remind them to keep at it.
