Welcome to the show notes! Remember, this is a brief summary from the How to Market Your Horse Business podcast. You'll want to listen to the entire episode for all the good stuff!

As a horse business owner, you're making lots of decisions daily and oftentimes on the fly. But what about those big decisions? How do you know which way to go?

While this topic may not be directly related to marketing strategy, it's definitely applicable. Plus, those big decisions you're making often have an impact on your marketing.

That's why I invited Katie Navarra onto the podcast. Katie's a successful freelance writer you've likely met in your favorite equine industry magazine, from Horse Illustrated to Horse & Rider, and more. She also now provides life coaching services to professionals in transition, which makes her the perfect person to coach us on how to make decisions well.

Katie has some great questions you can ask yourself to help you make the best decision for you, your family, and your business.

You'll learn how personality tests can help you make better decisions. Plus, you'll discover the different categories on what Katie calls the "wheel of life," and how knowing where you are in each category can give you the guidance you need to make decisions related to each one.

Sometimes we just need a third party to help us get perspective and ask us questions to make us think in a new way—and that's what Katie's doing here today.

Here are some key questions to ask yourself when making a big decision:

  1. What is it you’re tolerating?

  2. What makes you happy?

  3. What might be possible?

  4. Imagine three years from now. How do you want to answer, “What have you been doing the last three years?”

  5. What’s your personal mission statement?

  6. If nothing changes, what's the worst that can happen?

Of course, you'll want to listen to the full episode to dig into how you can apply each of these questions to your decision-making process!
