Welcome to the show notes! Remember, this is a brief summary from the How to Market Your Horse Business podcast. You'll want to listen to the entire episode for all the good stuff!

Do you know what most horse businesses miss on social media? It’s social!

That means creating content is a very important piece of the puzzle, but it is not the only piece that matters when it comes to building your business using social media.

The social part means that you need to take time to engage with people on the platform. Engagement is really another way of saying “connecting” with people. In this instance, I’m not talking about engagement in terms of your engaging content. Instead, in this episode, we’re focused on the idea of you actually engaging with people on the platform.

What does that look like? That’s exactly what we are diving into today.

Here are 3 specific and practical ways you can engage on social media:

  1. Send direct messages to new followers.

  2. Reply to comments on your own posts. And then, visit their profile or page and comment on one of their posts.

  3. Reply to the stories of your best-fit audience.

When you do these three things you’re getting outside of your own content bubble. That means you have to stop expecting people to come to you.

You might be saying, “Denise, I do not have time for that. I barely have time to text back the people that I already know, let alone send direct messages to strangers.”

But, we make time for the things that are important to us. I am not saying this coming from a place of perfection, but a place of awareness.

So, if building awareness about the products and services that your business provides is important to you, then you will figure out how to schedule 10 minutes in your day every day to engage intentionally on social media. You can do this!

Of course, you'll want to listen to the full episode to dig into each of these engagement ideas and discover how you can apply each one to your horse business!
