Welcome to the show notes! Remember, this is a brief summary from the How to Market Your Horse Business podcast. You'll want to listen to the entire episode for all the good stuff!

If social media has been working for you, do you really need a website?

Can’t you just use Facebook as your website and call it good?

That’s a hard no, friend. And, I promise, I’m not just saying that because I’m a marketing, and I happen to design and copyright websites.

Does October 4, 2021 ring a bell? That’s the day of the infamous shut-down when Facebook and its subsidiaries, Messenger, Instagram, WhatsApp, Mapillary, and Oculus, became globally unavailable for a period of six to seven hours.

Sure, it came back. But, it was a necessary wake-up call for many businesses.

If you rely 100% on social media to market your equestrian business, then you’re handing over total control to a third party who is not invested in your success.

But, that’s just the tip of the iceberg. Let’s dive in!

4 Reasons Social Media Should Not Replace Your Website

  1. You rent Facebook. You own your website.

  2. Facebook is the front porch. Your website is the living room.

  3. Your website is how people find you in a Google search. (AKA Search Engine Optimization)

  4. You can only control user experience on your own website.

Of course, you'll want to listen to the full episode to dig into each of the insights and discover how you can apply each one in your horse business!
