Inspired by my own recent Business Barn Collective launch debrief, we’re diving into the essentials for reviewing an offer launch so you can learn and improve for the next time.
If you’ve ever wrapped up a launch (clinic, digital program, course, or service) and jumped straight into the next thing, this episode is for you.
Because your next best launch starts after the last one ends. But, only if you take time to reflect.
That’s why I’m walking you through a simple, effective 4-step launch debrief process. Whether your last launch felt like a wild success or a quiet flop, this is how you grow.
The 4-Step Debrief That Changes Everything for Your Equine Business
1. Gather the Data
Start with the numbers. Why? Because your feelings might be valid, but they’re not always accurate.
You may think something flopped when the data shows otherwise. On the flip side, you might think something worked well when the data shows the opposite is true.
A brief list of what to track:
Dates of your pre-launch and launch window
Number of people who signed up for your conversion event (webinar, challenge, etc.)
How many showed up live?
How many registrants converted into paying clients or customers?
Where did you leads and actual buyers come from? (Email, Instagram, referral, etc.)
Email stats: how many did you send, open rates, click rates?
2. Ask for Feedback
Don’t go it alone. Even if you’re a one-person show, this step matters.
Ask:
Team members: What went well? What could improve?
Trusted peers or business friends: What did you notice? Anything confusing or especially compelling?
Sometimes the things that feel “off” to you aren’t even noticed by others. (And, vice versa.)
3. Analyze the Results
Here’s where you match your expectations with reality.
Did you meet your sales or sign-up goals?
What days saw the most engagement or purchases?
Which emails performed best?
What lead sources converted the most?
For example, you had a 30% open rate and 3% click rate on emails, you could be in a great spot. So maybe the area for improvement wasn’t your email content, it was lead volume. That insight helps you know what lever to pull next time.
And don’t forget your own experience and feelings: What felt aligned? What felt heavy?
4. Celebrate + Learn
Yes, celebrate — even if the numbers weren’t where you wanted them.
Ask:
What will I repeat next time?
What will I skip?
What new ideas came from this experience?
How can I simplify and improve?
Then capture your notes in a doc to refer to as you plan your next launch. Your future self will thank you.
Remember, you don’t need a perfect launch to have a successful equine business.
You just need to keep learning and consistently making improvements based on what you learn.
