Tips and Takeaways from Road to the Horse

You know that Road to the Horse is a great place to learn about horses. But, did you know it’s also a great place to learn about marketing your horse business?

I had the blessing of attending Road to the Horse 2021, and I walked away with so many takeaways that apply to marketing that I had to share them with you. So, here are 6 tips and takeaways I got from Road to the Horse that will help you market your horse business.

Welcome to the show notes! Remember, this is a brief summary from the How to Market Your Horse Business podcast. You'll want to listen to the entire episode for all the good stuff!

I had the blessing of attending Road to the Horse 2021, and I learned so much.

Getting to watch six different trainers and their unique approaches to working with a 3-year-old colt that had barely been handled was just cool. No better way to say it.

Many of them I’d watched on TV or at least online before, and some of them were new to me. But I learned something from each one.

Not to mention the demonstrations from each one plus a liberty performance by Dan James who I’ve watched perform on YouTube multiple times.

And, as a bonus, I took my son to meet Booger Brown who was the fan host of the event because we love to watch him and his friends and family together on The Cowboy Way.

You get it. It was just great!

And while I was there, I couldn’t help but think of you, my How to Market Your Horse Business Podcast listeners.

There were so many takeaways, some that were specific to marketing, and some that were actually being taught in terms of training horses but absolutely apply to you as a horse business owner.

So, here you go.

Here are 6 major tips and takeaways from my time at Road to the Horse:

  1. Consistency pays off.

  2. Lists are a great way to communicate.

  3. Use giveaways to collect email addresses. (And then have a plan for what to do with them after the event.)

  4. Clarity wins every time.

  5. Always be thinking about your audience.

  6. What you say to yourself matters.

Of course, you'll want to listen to the full episode to dig into each one and learn how you can apply it to your business!
